Machine steam no. 279


The machine via vapor narrow num. 279, was built by the Baldwin Locomotive works of Philadelphia for the railways national Mexico, and putting into service in 1904. The line was originally called railway of Morelos, and later was incorporated into Mexico-Veracruz interoceanic railway. It is the only machine of steam still in operation in the country. His image has been immortalized in the commemorative banknotes of the centennial of the Mexican Revolution back.
